These notes often contain specific formatting information or metadata included by the application that created the note and which could degrade user experience if modified outside said application. Two examples of this behavior are Evernote Food and Evernote Hello ; notes created by these applications are read-only in all other Evernote client applications.
This information is embedded in the body of the note after processing and sent to client applications to facilitate search.
